For this project, we designed and built a kitchen island to meet our client's needs for food preparation, functionality, and attractive aesthetics. We used black walnut for the hardwood, and the top is finished with a food-grade mineral oil. The frame is back-coated solid steel. We added a custom sliding upper drawer and a lower shelf. All four wheels are locking casters for easy mobility. The longer edge of the island top allows guests to pull up a bar stool and relax while the cook is prepping.
